Line sizing is the one of the basic skill required for process engineer. when you enter the process engineer interview, this might be first and foremost questions.
Line sizing refer the finding the appropriate pipe diameter. In any process industry, piping is the one of major cost affecting factor. Therefore, choosing the correct pipe size save the significant capital and operational cost.
To avoid oversizing and undersizing, inline with line sizing criteria and project specification is highly important. Here I have discussed some important and basic criteria for line sizing for the liquid lines, gas lines and two phase lines.
